This week our organisation celebrated the incredible 16 years of innovation, achievements and community contribution of Be CEO Feda Adra as she announced her resignation from Be.

Last week Feda announced to the team that it was “time for a new challenge” as wished the team farewell.

“It has been a great privilege to work with such a passionate and dedicated group of staff and volunteers,” the mother of three said. “I am enormously proud of establishing, building and leading an organisation that has achieved such positive outcomes through its commitment to helping people,” she added.

Ms Adra steered the company through a period of significant growth. She oversaw a major expansion of services, a company rebrand and the development of the $25 million Vitality Village at Birtinya, which is scheduled to open mid year.

Be chair Tim Robson said Ms Adra helped position the organisation, which started 33 years ago as a transport company, well into the future.

“During the past 12 months Feda and her team overcame unprecedented challenges for our industry because of COVID-19,” Mr Robson said.

“They were quick to adapt to new ways of working and delivering services in the most challenging circumstances. While we will miss her leadership, we wish Feda the best of luck in her future endeavours,” said Mr Robson.

Chief operating officer Rosie Overfield will act in the position until a new CEO is appointed.

Ms Adra said she was “enormously proud” to be involved in establishing, building and leading an organisation committed to helping people.

“I feel blessed and grateful to have enormous support around me now and into the future,” she said.

The entire Be family wish Feda all the best for the future and celebrate the incredible legacy she has left for the organisation. The team will always value Feda’s contribution and philosophy in life is of by giving back, working for the greater good; which is evident across all facets of her life.
