This Aged Care Employee Day we celebrate our diverse team by saying ‘Thanks for Caring’. And everyday our Bundaberg team give it everything they’ve got to deliver outstanding services and care for Be clients. The past twelve months have shown just how much this incredible group of people truly care.

Be’s Bundaberg Care Coordinator Natalie Schiffke is proud of her team and shares “Our Bundaberg team are made up of a wonderful group of caring and supportive workers that really do put the client first in all that they do.”

Peter Myles has been a driver for Be 7 years and takes great pride is his role in the community. “Peter always goes above and beyond for our clients. He understands the importance of social connections and how import our services are to our clients,” said Natalie.

During the COVID lockdown Be client Lynette was feeling lonely whist staying at home alone. Peter took initiative to think outside the square on how Be delivered services during this time. Peter organised to take Lynette on twice-weekly one-on-one walking groups for clients like Lynette to ensure she could socialise and stay active.

“The walking sessions with Peter have been a lifesaver. Being able to chat and get outdoors has kept me sane during this time,” said Lynette, Be client.

Michael Unwin is another devoted team member and has been with Be for over 7 years as a driver. Recently Michael found some extra time and surprised Be client Thelma with a trip to the ice cream shop. “Thelma was so delighted to enjoy ice cream and she even said that it’s something she hasn’t done in years. It brought back lovely memories from her childhood and I am so glad that I could bring her this joy,” shared Michael.

Natalie wanted to give a special shout out to her team by saying ‘thanks for caring’ this Aged Care Employee Day.
