Be is aware that times are a little isolating at the moment due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the strict social distancing measures that have been put in place. Many of our day-to-day activities have been cancelled and it’s safe to say that everyone is feeling the effects in some way.

We have therefore designed a new program called TeleFriends to help clients stay connected during these unsettling times. As part of the program, participating clients will be allocated to one of our dedicated Be TeleFriends who will ring you weekly to check in with you and have a chat. Our TeleFriends volunteers are made up of qualified and friendly Be staff and volunteers as well as Counselling students from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Our TeleFriends are great listeners and will be happy to hear your stories as well. The service offers a fantastic opportunity to create a new friendship as well as enjoy a connection to the outside world while many of us are physically isolated during this time.

TeleFriends is open to all Be clients and is free of charge. If you would like to know more or are interested in participating please contact your local Be office.

Now more than ever it important to take care of your mental health. So please use this opportunity to connect with Be as we are here for you and we are all in this together. You can read more about managing mental health during coronavirus here.
