Be understands the importance of maintaining social connections at every stage of life, which is why we’re so passionate about our Community Visitors Scheme program (CVS).Social support is at the heart of all Be services which is why we are so passionate about bringing people in our community together.

As part of this free companionship program, you will have the opportunity to be paired with one of our passionate and caring volunteers who will visit you regularly, either in your own home or a location of choice.

Accessing the CVS program is completely free thanks to funding from the Commonwealth Government and is designed to provide friendship and company for clients. To be eligible to access the program participants need to be on a waitlist or receiving services through a Home Care Package or living in a Residential Aged Care Facility*. The CVS program is completely free of charge and participation does not replace any other services you receive, rather, it compliments them.

“Michael spends most of the day with me and I always look forward to our conversations.” Raymond, CVS Client

Raymond and Michael have been friends for over a year and met through the program. They both look forward to their weekly catch up and often enjoy lunch at café togetherRaymond said “Michael is always talkative and a very charming young man. He is always kind and pleasant, and we have a lot in common. I am definitely happy with his company and look forward to going out to lunch with him and the conversations we have.”

Our clients enjoy a range of activities with their visitors, including, having morning tea and chat together at home, going to a local café for coffee, playing cards or doing crossword puzzles, pottering in a garden, going for a short walk or drive, reminiscing about old times and looking through photo albums, sharing stories or visiting the local nursery.

CSV volunteer Michael shares “I genuinely enjoy the opportunity to have fun interactions with the elderly in our community. I visit two clients and they both have so much to give.”
