One of the best advantages of getting older is that you also get wiser. Before the year ended, our friends at Kawana Companions kindly shared some life advice as we move into a New Year. Reflecting on what brings joy, compassion and wellbeing our clients have shared some simple yet profound advice.

With a smile always on his dial and eager to have a chat, Stevens shared “never stop dancing.” He explained that when you’re dancing your moving your body, enjoying music, activating memory function of the brain and often enjoying the company of others. He said “dancing is the key to happiness.”

Barb has been an active member of the community for many years since retirement likes to spend her time being social with new and old friends. She said “Always share a smile. You never know what someone else is going through.” Explaining that showing others kindness is a great way to offer compassion to others and in turn build friendships.

Advice about starting your day early and with positive intention was offered by Heather. “Get up early and stay motivated in the mornings to enjoy a restful afternoon,” she said.

Having lived different lives and learning from a variety of life experiences, our Kawana Companions all shared the same sentiment of choosing to be kind to others and find happiness in all that you do!
