New Services now available with Be

As things are looking very different lately for the Be family however one thing continues to stay the same- we are here to support our clients any way we can. So whilst our regular social support programs are on hold until further notice, the Be team have implemented some creative new programs and initiatives to stay engaged.
Transport update
Be is continuing to provide much needed transport services under government guidelines and include;
• Non-essential Transport up to 50km from your home
• Social distancing of 1.5m still applies inside and outside the Be vehicle

Tele-Friends
With many day-to-day activities cancelled we have designed a new program called Tele-Friends to help our clients stay connected during these unsettling times. The program partners clients with a dedicated Be Tele-Friend who will ring you weekly to check in with you and have a chat. Available: Free service & open to all Be clients. Welfare Checks
Our team are currently contacting clients to ensure that no-one is going without essential grocery and medical items. These calls also double up as a chance to connect with clients who are travelling and socialising less and finding new ways that Be can keep our community connected and engaged.

We are offering a variety of shopping options to ensure you are not without your essential groceries and medical items. Contact your local Be office to talk through your specific needs.

Ageless Grace Online
One of Be’s most popular social and wellness events, Ageless Grace is now coming to you at home via Facebook live! Join Jane at 10am on Tuesday morning for a live video session.
Set up a chair in front of your computer, smartphone or tablet, log into Facebook and turn up the sound ready for music, exercise and fun.
Ageless Grace® is a fun, simple senior health & fitness program. You can exercise – seated, standing or even lying down. The 21 simple exercises based on the science of neuroplasticity work all parts of the body and brain in ways that help develop, maintain or regenerate our functionality.

Book Exchange
At many of our social events clients would organise a small book exchange. In this time our regions are getting creative and Be staff and volunteers are implementing a mobile book exchange. If you would like to have books delivered to your door please contact our team to register your interest in this program.

Be Connected
Fancy an online chat with one of our friendly team? Or maybe you need help setting up video calls so you can chat with friends and family. We’re here to help you get connected. Contact your local Be office to register your interest.

Letter Writing / Pen Pals / Drawing Exchange
Each region is exploring relationships with local schools, Child Care Centres and families of Be staff to kick-off a Pen Pal program. Please contact our team if you are keen to be included in this program.

Welfare Packs
For more isolated clients welfare packs can be delivered with essential grocery items, a local magazine and a friendly chat on arrival. Please contact our team to find out more information on this program.

IGA Shopping Services
To help ease the burden of heading out and grocery shopping we have partnered with White’s IGA on the Sunshine Coast to provide Be clients access to their free home delivery service plus a 5% discount off your grocery bill. There is no minimum spend required. Simply prepare your shopping list and call 5390 1200 to take up this service or for more details.

Take-Away Food Delivery
Craving some different food options? We can arrange the delivery of your favourite local take-away. Available: Mackay, Townsville and Wide Bay
