As part of Comlink Australia’s mission to make lives the best they can be, Cultural Companions was birthed with the intention of providing additional support and choice of services to older Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and their carers.
The program aims to provide services that are inclusive for people of all cultural groups and languages, recognising that older people display the same diversity of characteristics and life experiences as the broader population and need to receive services which reflect their diverse needs. The program operates as Centre-Based Respite connecting like-minded people through engaging and supportive activities.
We can assist with:

- Personal care
- Medication assist/ prompts
- Community access/ Transport
- Social engagement/ activities
- Overnight in-home respite care
- Arranging residential respite care

How can I access respite services with Comlink Australia?

To access our respite services, you will need to be registered and assessed by the Australian Government’s centralised contact centre known as My Aged Care.
