“This is an exciting opportunity for both Melissa and I and we are both committed to taking on a stronger leadership role in a sector which is constantly evolving due to the demand for increased services to accommodate Australia’s ageing population,” Liam said.
“Our goal is to support all aged care sector members, as service providers, who are deeply influenced by the way the sector is governed, funded and regulated. However, Melissa and I believe there is room for improvement in aged care across Queensland as well as nationally.”
“We want to unite providers under a shared vision to enhance the wellbeing of older Australians through a high performing, trusted and sustainable aged care sector. Both Melissa and I are committed to championing transformative initiatives within the sector in order to enhance services for the benefit of older Australians.”
Melissa said communication with all parts of the aged care sector would be a priority moving forward.
“We need to listen to and collaborate with our members and key affiliates in order to achieve change in our sector. We are particularly committed to supporting member feedback on issues of strategic importance including new and emerging challenges across policy, advocacy and aged care reform that affect the sector both locally and nationally,” Melissa said.
